[2/6] 2026 Goal Progress: AI Rescued What I Should Be Doing

I declared several goals before. Here's my progress update. This is basically my "Am I actually doing this?" accountability session.
Health
Personal Training Session 3
Went to my third personal training session. Mainly focusing on upper body training.
My goal is the arms of Mackenyu Arata, who played Enishi in the live-action 'Rurouni Kenshin' movie. That well-trained look is what I'm going for.
When I told my trainer, they said, "Alright, let's do it." Great person.
I walked on the home treadmill, walked as much as possible from the station—it was a week of consciously "walking."
Sleep Has Gotten Interesting
Something interesting is happening with my sleep.
This week, I woke up in the 4 AM range twice and stayed up. I naturally get tired at night, sleep, and wake up early. I'm getting 6-7 hours of sleep.
It happened naturally, not forced. I hope this continues.
Quitting Smoking
Not working at all. No progress.
Work
Claude Code Is Spreading in the Company
The Claude Code I introduced last week is now being used by team members. We're sharing knowledge quickly.
I check daily Claude Code announcements and AI-related news, and when I think "this could be applied here," I implement and deploy immediately. The speed from ideation to deployment has increased.
As a result, I can now focus more on task management, task refinement, and managing people. I think it's a good shift.
Dumping Slack Conversations Directly
As a specific use case, when a conversation happens on Slack about "this should be done this way" regarding a product, I dump everything into Claude Code. I tell it what the end goal should be, look at the output code, and if it's LGTM, I verify on staging and deploy.
However, I'm being careful with medium to large-scale stuff. Implementation is fast, but bugs can appear during verification like "this is wrong." Releasing heavily on day one is still a bit scary.
Challenge: Humans Are the Orchestrators
There are also challenges.
AI still doesn't move unless humans give instructions. There's no framework for AI to do things while I'm sleeping, or to proactively do things ahead of what humans do during the day.
When humans clock out, AI stops too. I want to fix this.
AI Rescued What I Should Be Doing
The most memorable thing this week was that after having Claude Code do various things, the time I spent glued to implementation dropped significantly.
Thanks to that, I was able to reconfirm what I should be doing as CTO, think of good actions for the company, and execute them. I could also make plans.
AI rescued what I should be doing. This is big.
Money
Portfolio Unchanged, But in the Red
The portfolio itself hasn't changed.
However, there was the massive SaaS crash due to AI, movements in dollar value and gold, etc. As a result, it's dropped quite a bit and I'm in the negative against my goal.
But I don't feel particularly anxious.
Mercari Not Selling
I go to game centers with my son, win figures, and list them directly, but they're not selling much.
Prices are a bit higher than others, low visibility, items past their peak popularity. Several possible causes.
Is there SEO within Mercari? I don't know.
Preparing for Overseas Relocation
Haven't taken many concrete actions.
What I did was check major tech blogs, brush up LinkedIn, and read books/watch YouTube about interviews at overseas companies.
Duolingo 36 Days Streak
About English learning. Duolingo streak has reached 36 days.
For someone who usually gives up after three days, I think this is amazing.
During commute time, I put in earbuds and listen to movie dialogues in English on Spotify. I'm consciously training my ears.
I can hear about 80% of easy listening. But with harder TOEIC-style content or movie dialogues, I still can't hear much.
However, compared to before I started, I can hear so much better. I'm definitely growing.
Closing Thoughts
This week I felt like the things I'm continuing are increasing. Personal training, Duolingo, early rising.
I achieved early rising 3 out of 7 days. Still less than half, but for someone who couldn't do it at all, this is big progress.
Next week, I'll just continue what I'm continuing. No weird late nights, move according to plan, do what I want to do in the morning.
That's the stance I want to maintain.
