[2/13] 2026 Goal Progress: Consistency Is Power

I declared several goals before. Here's my progress update. This is basically my "Am I actually doing this?" accountability session.
Health
Personal Training Session 4
Went to my fourth personal training session. Maintaining the weekly pace.
On top of that, I naturally stopped eating junk food. Potato chips, cup noodles, McDonald's. I just don't feel like eating them. This is probably a good thing health-wise.
Waking Up at 4 AM Has Become Normal
I'm honestly shocked at myself.
I'm completely asleep between 9 and 11 PM, and I wake up between 4 and 5:30 AM.
Not staying up late has made a big difference. Even when I think "I want to do more," I've gotten used to the feeling of "I'll wake up early tomorrow and do it."
It's happening naturally, not forced.
Quitting Smoking
Not going well at all. Can't even properly track the one-pack limit. No progress.
Work
Confronting Work in the AI Era
This week, I had moments where I felt I need to confront how to work in the AI era.
Evaluation methods, release flows, directory structure, repository structure. When you think about it from an AI-first perspective, things that seemed fine when only humans were involved start to seem pretty questionable.
I've been using Claude Code intensively. What I realized is that the higher the resolution of documentation, the more you can create what you want in one shot.
What High Resolution Means
Since I've written about the project myself, I can judge whether to modify existing processes or create something new to avoid affecting production.
AI can handle feature-level design. However, for implementation that fits the project, experienced humans need to give specific instructions like "watch out for this" or "this service needs to be careful about this kind of load."
Conversely, with low resolution, interactions with AI multiply. You keep saying "that's not it" until context is lost, and you end up in "I already told you that" situations.
AI Actually Reads Documentation
What's interesting is that even when you tell humans "everything is written here, please read it," not many people read everything.
But AI properly reads the documentation and makes suggestions based on it. That's why suggestions are usually clear in one shot.
It reads documentation better than humans. This was a discovery.
Challenge: Drawing the Line Between AI and Humans
There are also challenges.
AI can't do everything. There are cases where people try to solve things by asking AI when they should just ask humans with domain knowledge.
Without intuitive understanding of "this is a human interaction, this is an AI interaction," it leads to development delays and unintended features.
Creating an environment where internal communication is easy, and having AI read domain knowledge. Finding ways to get to "that's not too far off" even when PRs come in. That's what I'm exploring.
Also, routine tasks. Document creation, daily/weekly/monthly tasks. "It's monthly so manual is fine" has become annoying. Numbers should be more accurate with machines, so I want to automate with only human double-checks.
Money
Portfolio Unchanged
Following last week, no changes to the portfolio.
Stock prices going up and down, currently in the red. I'm not panicking, but I'm thinking of taking profits little by little at good times throughout the year.
Duolingo 43 Days Streak
About English learning. Duolingo streak has reached 43 days.
There's some kind of league, and I'm getting promoted every week. Since I became an early riser, I decided that the first language hitting my ears in the morning should be English. Duolingo apparently gives more XP when done in the morning, so I'm learning in a gamified way.
Getting Better at Conversations with AI
I've been focusing on video calls with AI.
Before, I could only respond with "Yes" or "No" to AI's questions. In normal human conversation, I'd be seen as "what's with this guy."
Recently, I can have proper conversations like "I'm like this, how about you?" or "What's your favorite XX?" This is progress.
During commute, I put in earbuds and just listen to English listening materials on Spotify. Some I can't hear at all, but for others I'm starting to construct English sentences in my head like "in this context, they're probably saying this."
However, vocabulary, expressions, fast talkers, high-pitched voices—listening to these is still weak. Continuing is key.
The goal of writing tech articles in English—I still haven't posted one. I want to write at least one this month.
Closing Thoughts
This week I reaffirmed that "consistency is power."
Personal training is now in its second month, English learning has continued for 43 days. Early rising has become established.
I think commitment is really important. When you declare something, you somehow feel watched, and you take responsibility for your actions. You start to feel like not doing it is really bad. Not being able to quit smoking is bad.
Next week, I'll write my to-do list every morning when I wake up and think about the order to complete them. Distribute tasks to AI, and handle company interactions and personal errands during that time.
Getting sick disrupts good habits, so I'll properly manage my health during this seasonal change.
Morning time is really good. Currently I've been doing only English when I wake up, but I want to mix in development and English articles in my morning to-do list.
